Physical Education

Students having fun in gym classThrough moderate to vigorous physical activity, physical education students in Hanover County learn the processes and skills they need to engage in and enjoy meaningful physical activity both for the present and for a lifetime. Our PE teachers challenge our students and guide them toward personal enjoyment, satisfaction, and better personal fitness.

All PGES students participate in physical education class once a week for 45 minutes. They learn basic manipulative and movement principles that promote an active lifestyle. Students participate in a range of activities that promote physical, mental, emotional, and social growth, shaping them to be influential members of the community. Students focus on being team players through communication and teamwork and work to find solutions to overcome challenges. At Pole Green, we also encourage healthy lifestyle choices and healthy living by introducing our students to basic health principles. Most importantly, students actively engage in movement throughout the class, and we encourage our students to participate in additional fitness activities in and out of school. Please be sure to send your Great Gators to school with appropriate footwear and clothing to ensure a safe learning environment for all of our students.
